Can I tell when my gun was made by the serial number? ›

Most individual manufacturers habitually put serial numbers on the weapons they produce. Such numbers can be used to ascertain the name of the manufacture, place and date of manufacture.

The serial number on a sticker on the box might have SN: or S/N in front of it. Take your box to a store that sells Taurus guns and ask them which of the numbers is the SN. Academy Sports handles Taurus. A pawn shop might be able to help.
