How hard is it to get into Kelley undergrad? ›

The acceptance rate tends to hover at around 20-30%, varying slightly for each incoming class.

Overall job outcomes are especially strong at Kelley. Some 98% of the 1,750 Kelley seniors who graduated between July 2022 and June 2023 and were actively seeking a job landed one within three months of commencement. The average salary for a Kelly undergrad was $76,705, with a median sign-on bonus of $6,000.

Kelley's Class of 2023 had an acceptance rate of 34.83% – slightly more lenient than last year's 39.71% for the Class of 2022, and significantly more selective than the previous year's 48.96% rate. The Class of 2023 had an average SAT score of 1444 – down ever so slightly from last year's average of 1450.

The Business Honors Program is highly selective with space for about 25% of applicants.

Students who earn B's (does not include B- 's) or better in all IU Bloomington coursework will guarantee their admission to the Kelley School. By earning admission, one will end their first year at IU with a strong GPA and a strong connection to the Kelley experience.

While the Kelley School does not have a Dean's List, Kelley students may qualify to be IU Founders Scholars and can participate in the related Honors Convocation.

Earned a cumulative GPA of 3.8 on a 4.0 scale from a single high school. We will use the highest GPA that is sent to IU Admissions from your official high school transcript. If your high school calculates and provides a weighted GPA, the weighted GPA will be used to determine eligibility for direct admission.

I said why it seems petitions aren't in those numbers… because the Kelley admit rate is showing nearly 100% accepted for the last two years, and the website says typically 65% of petitions are successful. I also don't see IU as a 'back-up' for many students.
