Does BMCC have a deans list? ›

The Office of the Vice President of Academic Affairs places students with a semester Grade-Point Average of 3.3 or better on the Dean's List.

How do I know if I am on the Dean's List? The Registrar generates the Dean's List after grades are in every semester. Eligible students will receive a 'Dean's List' notation on their transcript.

The award is given to a top percentile of students, like the top 10% or 25%. The exact dean's list GPA requirements will depend on each particular pool of students, but is usually at least a 3.5 GPA. To be eligible, you'll also need to be a full-time student taking a minimum number of credits (often around 12 credits).

3.5 GPA and a minimum of 12 credits.

The majority of students are very close to graduation when they reach 60 credits, but students must complete all degree requirements to be eligible to graduate. You can check your degree requirements on Degree Works (Advisem*nt Audit) through CUNYFirst or check with your Academic Advisor.

Those students who have earned a 3.75 to 4.0 GPA for the quarter are placed on the Dean's List. Those students who have earned a 3.25 to 3.749 GPA for the quarter are placed on the Honors List.

Getting on the Dean's List is a great personal achievement. The Dean's List is not awarded based on absolute GPA score — it's awarded based on comparative performance with everyone else in the faculty. This means if all your peers are top scorers, you have to score even better qualify for the Dean's List.

A GPA of at least 3.50 in advanced electives taken in the Mathematics Department. The satisfactory completion of at least three credits in honors work at an advanced course level, or the completion of an independent study with a grade of A- or better.
